WHITE BOX DRESSED IN RED RIBBONS

WHITE BOX DRESSED IN RED RIBBONS

You placed a small wrapped white box
Into the palms of my hands
Smiling you said keep it safe
That I am the only one
You trusted to have this
Then you added
But you can never open it

I looked at this white box
Dressed in red ribbons
I smiled at you, and asked
Does never really mean never
You laughed at my question

You may never open
This white box dressed
With these red ribbons
Until I am no longer with you

I flung my head back laughing
And replied
Even when you leave this world
You will always be with me
Space and time will never separate you and me

So I will rewrite my will and include
This white box dressed in red ribbons
To stay with me until my demise

You smiled and said it was only your heart
In this white box dressed in red ribbon
That you can give for Christmas this year

I cried and through my tears
All I could say was thank you

unbound CONTENT is proud to announce the launch of the last new book of 2011: Captured Moments, by Ellenelizabeth Cernek! You've read her poetry at vox, and in this collection you'll get to read more and see her beautiful art which graces the cover.

What do I love about this book? It's our first book of romance poetry! As I write in the book's Introduction, "The poetry of Ellenelizabeth Cernek definitely falls into the category of romance poetry. You'll know it from first read, just like we sometimes know love at first sight." Curious? Well, there's only one thing to do about that: order a copy!

Captured Moments is available in print here: https://www.createspace.com/3741270
